One of the only nicknames that we feared Elliott could be given was “Smelliott”! If I had known this was going to happen, I would have made a more firm push for him to be named Trevor.

I had started working on an update post but never got around to posting it. They gave me amoxicillin which gave me a full body rash after 7 days (they think the leftover steroids from puppp may have masked it). My doc said the reaction means I have a penicillin allergy now. After a week of gastrointestinal distress, the test came back positive for C difficile, which the compromised immune system + heavy antibiotics are responsible for. I’m pretty sure this past month has been the equivalent of 1 semester of medical school. I now know far more than I ever thought possible!

Hope you’re doing well! My mother and I have the trait for celiac, bit luckily don’t have it full blown. (When I start feeling ill, gluten gets reduced.) I’ve read about you eating gluten-free and my heart goes out to you – it is really tough!

Steph – you are the strongest person I know. I’m praying for you and the baby. not to pry – but what antibiotic did they give you? I had cellulitus which turned into MRSA and was given a sulfate based antibiotic and also had fever, headaches, gastrointestinal stress…maybe you have become allergic to Bactrum?

So glad to hear you are doing better. The first weeks of being a new parent are HARD ENOUGH without extra doses of awful. Our little baby is nervous; if Elliott is already advanced, he’s got a lot of catch up to do!

I read your entire story and let me just say how STRONG you are! You’re an amazing woman & mama. Your baby and husband are lucky to have you. If you guys can get through this–you can get through anything. I know this might seem trite, but if there is anything I can do from Athens, GA–even if it is to listen, please let me know.

Hey, The Normans are praying for you. Good mom’s make the decision that is best for their baby. You clearly do that. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to send your baby home from the hospital without you. But you knew it was the best thing for him. So you did it. Snuggle your baby for me. He knows his mama, I am sure of that.
