So, I’m not reaalllly what most people would call “a good singer”. I can carry a tune like a 50 lb bag of water – a big awkward mess. So the idea of singing a sweet little lullaby to Elliott when he’s in need of a late night wind-down just doesn’t seem to work. As a joke, I began singing the WKU Fight Song as a lullaby to Corey on the phone last night. I couldn’t remember the exact phrasing I used – but I’m satisfied with this version.
Lay down and sleep
Lay down and sleep
For dear old [mommy/daddy]
For tonight you’ve had
a bath and had
your diaper changed
WAH-WAH-WAH
Your eyes are sleepy
And you need to get some rest
So rest your head
And go to bed
Because it’s night-night
Time for you
